Watermark in Photoshop

E-mail Print PDF

There are several methods for creating a watermark in Photoshop. A watermark can be used on an image to show copyright protection or to promote the creator. Here is one very simple method using photoshop.

Sample Watermark

This demonstration will utilize Photoshop CS3.

The first step is to open the image. Type out the text as desired.

Next with the text tool selected go to the Layer tab at the top.

Layer>Layer Style>Bevel and Emboss

You are now in the Layer Style window

Set the depth to 50 and the direction size to 0

The next Step will show a more dramatic change.

Highlight the Blending Options Tool in the window

Set the fill opacity to 0%, click ok.  You will see an immediate change to the text.

You can also check the drop shadow checkbox  for a more dramatic effect.

Here is the final effect. Don't be afraid to experiment with the settings.
